Issue Position

As a former school board president and mother of three kids in the public school system, I have a passion for improving classroom results. The truth is, our education system as a whole is failing too many children. The first step is making sure kids in rural areas have the same access to the internet, and that rural classrooms are funded the same as urban ones. I support making sure teachers and classrooms have every dollar they need to get the job done but also support holding these teachers and schools accountable for making sure that when a student graduates, they have the tools and knowledge they need to go to college or get a good-paying job. I strongly support school choice and giving parents more of a voice in our local schools.
